As one of the powerhouse sectors in the Israeli economy, fintech has experienced a huge boost in funding, from early-stage to growth.

Global direcotry Chambers published its annual fintech rankings for Israel, which was first published in 2019.

Herzog and Meitar were ranked top-tier, with 13 additional law firms listed across 4 bands. 18 lawyers have been recognized as leading individuals, with Herzog’s Gil White as an eminent practitioner and Meitar’s Jonathan Irom, Barnea’s Zvi Gabbay and Shibolet’s Saul Adereth ranked in Band1. 

The 2023 rankings saw only two changes in the department ranking, whereas Gross Law Firm – GKH climbed to Band 2 and one firm exited the rankings. Similarly, the 2022 rankings saw only one change in the table in contrast to 2021 which had 9 changes (3 moves up/new and 6 moves down/exits) and 8 changes in 2020 (5 moves up/new and 3 moves down).

With regards to the individual rankings, there was much more movement in the table, consisting of 7 climbs/entries (3 lawyers entered the table and 4 individuals moved up, including a promotion to eminent, by Herzog’s Gil White and a promotion to Band 1 by Meitar’s Jonathan Irom). Two lawyers exited the rankings. The individual table was always more dynamic. In comparison, the 2022 individual ranking featured 7 moves (2 moves up, 3 new, 1 down and 1 exited) and the 2021 table featured also 7 moves, out of which 6 were down and out. The 2020 table also had 9 moves (3 new additions, 4 moves down and 2 moves out).
